  15.           See README.WRI for the full "Read Me" information.  A Windows 3.1
  16.           Write  document, README.WRI  gives  complete information  on: all
  17.           files in  the CANVAS.ZIP archive; all  supported MIDI interfaces;
  18.           and best  ways to enjoy  the SongCanvas.   It also  tackles legal
  19.           aspects such as licensing, registration and warranty disclaimers.
  20.           Once you print README.WRI, you may  safely delete this README.TXT
  21.           file.

  23.           However, since you've probably come here first, you might want to
  24.           know how to quickly start the program.  So here it is.  Please go
  25.           back to  the README.WRI file when you  get a chance.   I hope you
  26.           like  the  SongCanvas.   Watch for the true  Windows/MME  version
  27.           coming soon!

  37.           Connect  a MIDI  cable  from  the  computer's  MIDI  Out  to  the
  38.           SOUNDCanvas's MIDI In (this is pre-wired on the SCC-1).  Copy all
  39.           files into  a new directory and  change to that directory.   Type
  40.           one of these three commands and press <Enter>:

  42.             C             runs on MIDI device #17 (SOUNDCanvas default).
  43.  
  44.             C  /D:18      runs on  device #18 (change "18" to  any device #
  45.                           from 1 to 32).

  47.             CANVAS/?      displays help screens  explaining all  SongCanvas
  48.                           configuration options.   BE  SURE TO RUN  THIS IF
  49.                           YOUR  MIDI INTERFACE  IS NOT  A  STANDARD MPU-401
  50.                           SET-UP.

  52.           When you get to the Main Menu, scroll down to the HELP option and
  53.           press  <Enter>.  Read  some of the  text to get  comfortable, and
  54.           you'll be off and running!
